Product Description:
MetalStacks proudly presents this 1977 Banco Central de Venezuela 20 Bolívares note, issued in Caracas on June 7, 1977, bearing serial number P8111543 — a handsome piece of Venezuelan monetary history from an era when the Bolívar was one of the most stable and respected currencies in all of Latin America.
(PSV 10)
The obverse features a distinguished engraved portrait of José Antonio Páez (1790–1873), one of Venezuela's most celebrated national heroes and military commanders. A llanero (plainsman) cavalry leader of extraordinary skill, Páez was a key military figure in the wars of South American independence under Simón Bolívar and later became the first President of Venezuela following its separation from Gran Colombia. His image on the 20 Bolívar note reflects the profound respect Venezuelans hold for the founders of their republic. The note was produced by the prestigious American Bank Note Company of New York, one of the premier security printing firms of the 20th century, renowned for the exceptional engraving quality found on both U.S. and international currency issues.
The reverse showcases the Venezuelan Coat of Arms alongside a dramatic engraving of a monumental equestrian statue and commemorative plaza — a proud celebration of Venezuelan national identity rendered in rich forest green tones.
