The American bald eagle is featured flying by her side with the skyline of New York City in the distant background. The ring of 50 stars around the design element represents each US state.

The reverse side of the 2021 Antique American Virtues Independence Silver Round comes with a portrait of the third President of the United States of America, Thomas Jefferson. This slight-left-profile bust shows the president along with inscriptions of the series name, the phrase E Pluribus Unum, and a date mark in Roman numerals.
