The 2024 release of the Canadian Maple Leaf bullion coins marks a significant moment in numismatic history. With the passing of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, the Royal Canadian Mint commenced its 2023 bullion series, continuing to feature Her Majesty's effigy on the obverse. However, the 2024 release signifies a pivotal transition as King Charles III ascends to the obverse of Canadian coinage, succeeding his mother.
