Product Description:

MetalStacks is proud to present this outstanding 2026(W) American Silver Eagle, struck at the storied West Point Mint and certified by the Numismatic Guaranty Company at the coveted grade of NGC MS70 — a perfect coin in every respect — encapsulated in NGC's exclusive "Eagle 40th Anniversary" label, issued in commemoration of the American Silver Eagle's 40th year of production. The Silver Eagle was first struck in 1986 and has since become the best-selling silver bullion coin in the world. Forty years on, the 2026 issue carries that legacy forward at a moment of extraordinary national significance — America's 250th anniversary of independence — making this particular example a coin that marks two milestones at once. Whether you are building a world-class registry set, stacking certified U.S. Mint silver, or acquiring a piece that captures a genuinely historic year in American coinage, this NGC MS70 West Point Eagle delivers on every level.

Design Details:

Obverse: Adolph A. Weinman's transcendent Walking Liberty design — originally created for the Walking Liberty Half Dollar of 1916 to 1947 and revived for the Silver Eagle series at its 1986 launch — depicts Lady Liberty in full stride, draped in the American flag, her right hand extended toward the rising sun, left arm cradling a bouquet of laurel and oak branches symbolizing civil and military glory. "LIBERTY" arcs across the top, "IN GOD WE TRUST" appears at right, and the date "2026" is struck at the bottom. The West Point "W" mintmark appears at lower right. On an NGC MS70 example, every line of Weinman's relief is rendered with absolute precision, completely free of contact marks, hairlines, or imperfections of any kind.

Reverse: The reverse carries the redesigned heraldic eagle introduced in 2021 by sculptor Emily Damstra for the American Silver Eagle's 35th anniversary — a bold, dynamic composition that replaced the reverse used from 1986 to 2020. The eagle is shown in powerful flight, wings spread and turned upward, set against a backdrop of clouds and sunburst. "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" arcs above, "ONE DOLLAR" and "1 OZ. FINE SILVER" appear below, and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST" complete the inscriptions.

Why Stack Silver — And Why This Coin:

The American Silver Eagle is the best-selling silver bullion coin in the world — produced by the United States Mint since 1986 and backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government for its silver content, weight, and purity. For stackers, it is the gold standard of silver accumulation: universally recognized, instantly liquid, and available in the widest variety of grades and finishes of any silver bullion coin on the market.

The 40th anniversary of the Silver Eagle is a genuine milestone in American numismatic history. The program launched on November 24, 1986 — the same year the Statue of Liberty celebrated her centennial — and has since produced billions of ounces of silver distributed to collectors and investors across the globe. NGC's "Eagle 40th Anniversary" label commemorates that four-decade run with a design featuring a close-up portrait of the bald eagle — the very symbol that has graced the reverse of every Silver Eagle ever struck — making this label one of the most thematically appropriate in NGC's commemorative label series.

An NGC MS70 designation on the standard Sheldon scale represents the absolute pinnacle of coin grading — a coin with no post-production imperfections of any kind, as struck from the die with full luster and zero contact marks. Combined with the 40th Anniversary label and the West Point mintmark, this is a Silver Eagle that belongs in any serious registry set or investment-grade silver portfolio.

Silver's fundamental investment case has never been stronger. Industrial demand continues to surge across solar energy, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics — sectors requiring silver in quantities that cannot easily be offset by recycling or new mining. Above-ground stockpiles remain historically depleted. For the stacker who wants the world's most recognized silver bullion coin at the highest possible certified grade, this is the coin.
