Silver City is located in the Owyhee Mountains of southwestern Idaho at an elevation of approximately 6,200 feet. Its population declined in the late nineteenth century as mineral production decreased, leaving behind a preserved historic site.
Perseverantia originates from Roman tradition and represents endurance and sustained effort through difficulty. The allegory reflects the concept of remaining committed to a task or purpose despite challenges or uncertainty. The integration of this figure with Idaho’s mining history connects the design to themes of labor, persistence, and long-term development tied to the state’s resource industries.
