For the 2022 coin, the United States Mint returned to its original historical assets to reflect Weinman's original vision, including adding his traditional artist mark.

Reverse: The new reverse (tails) design features an eagle approaching a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER and ONE DOLLAR. Also included are the designer initials "ESD" for Emily S. Damstra and the sculptor initials "MG" for Michael Gaudioso.
